Complaining Sucks........

Complaining sucks the life right out of you and those around you. It breeds and feeds on negativity. It is NEVER helpful or conducive to problem solving. It is completely counterproductive in all situations. I cannot express the strength of my pure distaste for complaining. Now, with all of this being said, I have to admit, though I try hard not to, I do catch myself complaining occasionally. This is something I plan to work on wholeheartedly. I much prefer to look directly into the heart of a situation and deal with it as positively as possible and leave the grumbling in the gutter. If there is a problem, fix it or in those situations when that is not possible, gracefully accept it and move on.
What is the remedy to complaining, you ask? Well, I'm no scholar but I find that sincere thankfulness is really where it's at. When is the last time we all took a moment to inventory our lives and really focus on our blessings and all of the millions of things we should be so very grateful for? Somehow in our fast paced, 'I need it now, yesterday, last week,' culture, gratitude and true, deeply felt thanksgiving seems to have fallen by the wayside. Oh, I think we may feel it nudge us when we see a horrible tragedy and realize it didn't affect us like the person in the newstory...but for the most part it seems to have slipped away...relegated to a cold Thursday in November once a year....well, that is if the people around the table happen to remember why the turkey is there in the first place.
Sorry, for the rambling...I guess my 'love of all things human' has gotten the better of me....man we do suck sometimes.... See there, it seems I'm complaining about complaining! Man I do need help! Anyway, I really do just want to encourage everyone, and myself, to STOP, KILL the negative thought before it meets your tongue, BLESS rather than curse, and Be THANKFUL!!
P.S. This is a link to a great article with a ton of valuable info. It only takes a few minutes to read it.
